In a May 15 on-stage interview with Cadence CEO Anirudh Devgan at CadenceLIVE 2025, Huang reflected on the future of chip design—and offered a glimpse into how cutting-edge companies are thinking about AI’s next phase.
Much like how software engineers today increasingly rely on AI coding tools—and soon, autonomous agents—Huang envisions every chip and systems engineer being supported by “assistant chip designers” that help with everyday tasks:
— I’m gonna hire one biological engineer, and then I rent a thousand AI ones, he says, and — Every biological will be a super biological engineer, with his own team.
He also touches on what he believes will be “physical AI,” a later phase of the cycle, by which he basically means robotics — an already rapidly evolving field.

UPDATE: Jensen Huang is also due to deliver the opening keynote speach at Computex 2025 held yearly in Taiwan, on May 19th. He is expected to announce an NVIDIA-powered supercomputer to be used for a sovereign AI initiative in the country.
