Sora hits 1 million downloads in five days
In what may be the fastest rush to the milestone, OpenAI’s Sora chief, Bill Peebles, just tweeted that they matched it faster than even ChatGPT. This is despite being limited by invites and only being available in North America, he points out. On the other hand, the copyright «slop» shows no signs of abating. California’s Creative Artists Agency, one of the largest around, are now warning of «significant risk» from the app, and saying creators deserve to be paid for their intellectual property.

OpenAI delivers ChatGPT Go in slew of countries
After launching in India in August, and later expanding to Indonesia, the cost-effective new ChatGPT tier now becomes available in 18, mostly Asian, countries. The subscription offers slightly more access and should give 10x more messages, image generations than the Free tier and cost around $4.5 in local currencies.

Google announces Gemini Enterprise
Google gives its Enterprise efforts a leg up, announcing a whole host of new corporate customer’s and adding new features. The new agentic AI will now train on the customers own data, wherever it might sit, and offer ways to chat with corporate information, for example. This relies on Deep Research and data insights — and you can even build custom agents for the platform. New customers include Macquarie Bank, Mercedes and Klarna.

Genie 3 included in Time’s 2025 Best Inventions
Demis Hassabis proudly tweets on the inclusion in one of the most prestigious innovation roundups, saying how Genie 3 can generate whole worlds from a single promt. Time’s presentation is short, but packs a punch, seeing possibilities for students to study Rome, «or training AI agents in scenarios too risky to test in real life.»

Now there’s a familiar face
Rishi Sunak, the former conservative Prime Minister of Britain, is doing a Nick Clegg, and has traversed the ocean for a plum tech job in the USA. This time it’s as «senior advisor» for both Microsoft and Anthropic, who say he will be internally focused and part time with the company, advising on strategy, macroeconomic and geopolitical trends. He will «prohibited» from initiating contact with UK government officials. He was spotted with Fei-Fei Li just yesterday.
