Adobe launches apps in ChatGPT for image, PDF editing

Starting today, ChatGPT has apps for Photoshop, Acrobat and Adobe Express right in the chat window, perhaps making ChatGPT more functional than Nano Banana for some tasks.

All you do is mention the app in chat and tell it what to do, like «Adobe Photoshop, help me blur the background of this image.» After the first prompt, you won’t have to mention the app for later refinements.

The Photoshop app should also be able to use sliders for manual control for contrast and brightness, letting you fine tune images you upload or generate.

Acrobat will edit PDFs, extract elements from tables and text, convert other documents to PDF and merge multiple files. It will also compress and convert files while keeping the formatting intact.

Adobe Express in ChatGPT will create invitations and posters based on their template library, from festive to sparkly, and will even let you change the images inside the design.

They don’t offer the full functionality of Adobe’s apps, though — but users should be able to finish the editing in one of their desktop apps, starting where they left off in ChatGPT.

The apps should be available for free globally on desktop, web and iOS, with only the Adobe Express being available on Android. Adobe is promising that the rest will come «soon.»

You might have to go to Settings > Apps & Connectors in the ChatGPT app to select the apps and click Connect to get the full functionality.
