Ive and Altman teamed up to build a ChatGPT consumer device some six months ago and seem to have settled on a prototype.

They are looking to make a device that’s «simple and playful,» The Verge reports, and it is rumored to be screen-free and about the size of a smartphone, they say.

Like a cabin in the woods
Altman says the iPhone was one of the best consumer devices ever made, but has gotten tedious to use with too many notifications and distractions, TechCrunch writes.

The new device, however, should be distraction free and be like «sitting in the most beautiful cabin by the lake in the mountains and just enjoying the peace and calm,» Altman says.

Almost naive in simplicity
They have now decided on a prototype that should «teeter on appearing almost naive in its simplicity,» according to Ive.

The new prototype should be «less than» two years out from reaching the market.
