If you haven’t caught up yet, Anthropic has sworn off ads and are using their Super Bowl to time decry them.
This has caused a very real spat with OpenAI, and Sam Altman posted a long screed about how Anthropic is misrepresenting how ads will work in ChatGPT.
Google is much more touchy feely in their approach, showing a family moving into their new home and getting Gemini to help with decorations.
This is much better at advocating for AI and shows some real use cases, even if you aren’t moving right now.
Amazon’s ad goes with dark humor, with actor Chris Hemsworth being terrified of having an AI in his house, thinking it will kill him. He later comes around to how it can actually be useful.
OpenAI have been real secretive about their ad, but here it is. It focuses on computers and widgets through time, and positions Codex as the apex of evolution, saying “you can just build things.”
