The round is the second largest tech investment in history, and puts Anthropic close to the top of the valuation range for AI labs, having grown its revenue ten times for every year the last three years.

Their current run-rate revenue sits at $14 billion, they say, well within that range.

Like a rocket ship. Anthropic is growing fast and making real money. (Picture: Anthropic)

There has been a 7x growth of customers spending over $100,000 on their platform in the past year, and more than 500 customers are using more than $1 million.

Claude is especially growing in the enterprise, with eight of the Fortune ten counting as customers, Anthropic says.

Claude Code «only» accounts for $2.5 billion of the company’s revenue this year — which is more than double the number from 2026.

The new investment will «fuel the frontier research, product development, and infrastructure expansions that have made Anthropic the market leader in enterprise AI and coding,» Anthropic writes.

OpenAI is currently negotiating for a $100 billion funding round at a valuation of $830 billion.
