— We’re increasingly going to be customers of each other. We will use Anthropic models, they will use our infrastructure and we’ll go to market together, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said, according to Reuters.
The agreement means Anthropic will optimize their software stack to better run on Nvidia’s hardware, while Nvidia will «optimize for Anthropic workloads.»
In addition, a source tells Reuters that both companies have committed to investing in Anthropic’s next funding round.
The deal pushes Anthropic’s valuation to $350 billion, another source tells CNBC. For comparison, OpenAI is valued at $500B.
Anthropic has traditionally been using Amazon Web Services, which is also an investor, for their compute load. But lately, everyone has been diversifying in all directions — Microsoft edging closer to Anthropic, and OpenAI going to AWS, following a reorganization deal between the software giant and OpenAI.
Nvidia has also recently invested $100 billion in OpenAI.
